Our home care aide (HCA) 75-hour training certification prepares you for your career in caregiving. We provide interactive, hands on learning for our students. This course is accredited and state approved. Our instructors are knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about caregiving.
The 75 hours of Basic training to meet state requirements includes the following classes.
- Orientation and Safety
- CORE Curriculum
- Population Specific – We have multiple class options for you to choose from.
5 Hours Orientation and Safety
40 Hours CORE Curriculum (5 days – For residential agency billing through DDA)
54 Hours CORE Curriculum (7 days – For all students who are taking the Home Care Aide State exam)
3-Day CORE Skill Class (Registration by Permission Only)
16 Hours (Minimum) Population Specific Classes (Choose classes from the list below)
Dementia Specialty – 8 Hours
Diabetes Specialty – 8 Hours
Mental Health Specialty – 8 Hours
Traumatic Brain Injury – 8 Hours
CPR/FA – 6 Hours
Navigating Challenging Behaviors – 3 Hours
HCA Skills Review (Not part of 75 Hours Basic HCA Training and/or Continuing Education)
Do you want to review and practice your caregiving skills before your Prometric exam? Here is a link to the Home Care Aide Skills Review classes:
- HCA Skills Review (On-Campus Class) – This class is for individuals who need to review the skills for the HCA state exam.
- HCA Skills Review Videos (Online Class) – This skill review videos are to help HCA's practice their caregiving skills before their Prometric exam. The videos are to be used for review purposes only. If students need/want to learn the skills they will need to take the skills class. There will be no certificate issued for watching the videos.
